Founded and based in Santa Barbara, California, ProFold has been advancing research and developing technologies to address some of the most challenging unsolved problems in amyloid therapeutics.
Our Story
Our team is dedicated to finding therapies for people that need it. Our founder and CEO, Erica Keane Rivera, has made this her life mission. Her journey in drug discovery started when she was 16 years old in high school. She was chosen by the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) to do an internship in the Kosik Lab at UCSB. Since that moment, she graduated as a Bioengineer, worked in the pharma industry, conducted doctoral investigation, and started ProFoldBio. The rest of the ProFoldBio team shares this passion with Erica and comes with a highly diverse set of skills and experiences in pharmaceuticals, biologics, AI/machine learning, bioinformatics, chemicals/materials informatics, and building scalable scientific software applications.
